The White Space Series came from my simple desire to play with the way images can "grow," extend, and take on a life of their own. Just by the nature of marbling, paint immediately spreads to fill the entire tank. One has to make white space using a dispersant, which pushes back on the paint. Then, using tools, I'm able to push and pull the designs into the white space. It is a tedious process, a constant game of tag as I go back and forth between adding paint and adding dispersant to create the piece I am looking for.
The pieces below measure 20" x 25" and are all on paper.
